No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident Wednesday morning north of Arcadia. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office reports that at approximately 11:54 p.m. a 2006 Peterbuilt semi-tractor trailer, driven by 28-year-old Brice Arden Hospelhorn of Wall Lake, was northbound on Concord Avenue. A 1998 Freightliner, driven by 58-year-old Berton Ferd Borkowski of Carroll, was at the intersection with 140th Street, and reportedly pulled out from the stop sign to turn south. Borkowski says he did not see the Hospelhorn truck when he was making the turn. In a move to avoid a collision, Hospelhorn entered the east ditch. There was an estimated $6,000 in damages to Hospelhorn’s semi and no damages done to the Borkowski Freightliner. Borkowski was charged with failure to yield upon entering an intersection.
