The Kuemper Catholic Middle School students will be taking to the courts this weekend to support the upcoming Mission Honduras trip. Tomorrow, Saturday, Dec. 1, there will be a volleyball and dodgeball tournament at the St. Lawrence center gym. The public is invited to cheer the teams on with the volleyball tournament beginning at 8:30 a.m. and the dodgeball tournament to follow at around noon or 12:30 p.m. Proceeds are raised through team fees and concessions sold throughout the day. Not only will the kids be able to release some of that pent up energy on a wintry day, but this is a great way for them to support the 25 high school students who will be leaving on April 2, 2019 for the 10 day trip. During the biennial missionary venture, the students and the chaperones work to build shelters, provide necessary daily-living essentials and support the education of area youth as well as the character education for local males in the Nueva Capital region of Honduras.
