Jefferson Man Becomes Aggressive With Officers During Traffic Stop

A man stopped for a traffic violation in Jefferson was arrested after becoming confrontational with officers. The Jefferson Police Department reports the incident occurred at approximately 9 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 28, when an officer stopped 45-year-old Ryan James Brown for driving while license barred, an aggravated misdemeanor. A Greene County Sheriff’s Office Deputy was assisting when Ryan resisted arrest and threatened the officers. A substance believed to be marijuana was also found in his vehicle. As a result, Ryan has been charged with interference with official acts and harassment of a public official, both simple misdemeanors, and possession of a controlled substance, second offense.
