Iowa House District 12 Candidates Highlight Downsides Of Opponent During Closing Remarks At Chamber Forum

Both candidates for the Iowa House of Representatives District 12 seat used their closing remarks at Wednesday’s Carroll Chamber of Commerce Candidate forum to go on the offensive against their opponent. Brian Best, the Republican incumbent, gave his final comments first. He used his allotted time to highlight the differences between himself and Democrat, Peter Leo.

He says his dedication to the residents of District 12 is evident through the multiple awards and endorsements he has received from the Iowa Farm Bureau, Iowa Corn Growers, Iowa Association of Business and Industry and Iowa Restaurant Association Legislator of the Year. Best said he has followed through on every promise he has made to voters.

Leo made the last comments of the forum. He told voters they have a fundamental choice to make on Nov. 6.

Leo added that Best’s awards, titles and endorsements are wonderful, but they do not mean anything when compared to the needs of the people in the district.

Prior to Leo mentioning it, there had been no discussion regarding Highway 30, and Best did not have an opportunity respond. Carroll Broadcasting will bring you more from these candidates and Carroll Chamber of Commerce Forum in upcoming broadcasts.
