Eleven Communications Exhibits From Carroll County Fair Advance To State Fair Next Month

Eleven 4-H communications exhibits from the Carroll County Fair will advance to the Iowa State Fair next month. Educational presentations, demonstrating communications skills through knowledge, information or a process to an audience, that will be moving on are: WWII Junker Just Stuka, from Jake Ferneding of the Confident Crusaders; Essential Oils, from Mariah Gorham and Sarah Kitt with the Carroll Champs and Dedham Go-Getters; Not Just a Blue Sign, presented by Alexandria Klein with the Confident Crusaders; The Baritone from Sam Rotert of Halbur Community and Pomeranian Puppy, submitted by Esther Van Horn with the Richland Hot Shots; You Raise Me Up, Super Mario Brothers Wii Desert Background Music and Pink Panthers, all piano pieces from Callie Ferneding and Jake Ferneding with the Confident Crusaders and Olivia Tomka with the Arcadia Energetics earned top spots. From the working exhibits, in which 4-Hers communicate, interact with and teach an audience, there were two entries that qualified at the state level, Sugar Scrubs form Annie Ankenbauer and Sara Kitt of the Dedham Go-Getters and Can You Find It? From Esther Van Horn. The final entry moving on is in the poster communication category in which the exhibit tells a story or idea visually. Esther Van Horn of the Richland Hot Shots will share her poster from Aug. 9 to the 19th at the fair.
