One driver was trapped in their vehicle after a two-car accident Saturday on Highway 30 near Scranton. Greene County Sheriff’s Office deputies, the Scranton and Jefferson Fire Departments and Greene County Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene at Eaton Avenue at approximately 2:48 p.m. They found that 18-year-old Jackie Hawthorne of Scranton was westbound in a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am when she crossed the center line. She struck a 2012 Ford Fusion, driven by Tonya Ramsey of Sac City. Ramsey’s vehicle overturned, and she had to be extricated by emergency personnel. There were no major injuries in the accident, but both vehicles were totaled. Hawthorne will be cited for driving left of center.
