Denison Principal Named Sioux City Diocese Superintendent Of Catholic Schools

A former principal at a Denison school has been selected to serve as the Superintendent of Catholic Schools for the Sioux City Diocese. The announcement was made Thursday that Patty Lansink, who served as principal at St. Rose of Lima School since 2011, would be taking over the position on a permanent basis. She has been acting interim superintendent since Dr. Dan Ryan accepted a position as president of Dowling Catholic High School in West Des Moines. One of Lansink’s first tasks will be to find her own replacement at the Denison school. She says she is honored to continue in this role. “After working as a principal at St. Rose of Lima for the past seven years, I have been blessed to work with an amazing group of school administrators and am eager to continue our work together to provide an outstanding Catholic education for our students,” she says. Lansink has over 20 years of experience in education, having first secured a Bachelor of Science degree in zoology and a teaching endorsement in science education from Iowa State University (ISU) before completing a Master’s of Science Education from Buena Vista University. She went on to complete her Administrative Endorsement through the Iowa Principal Leadership Academy. She also received her Education Specialist Degree at Wayne State College in December of 2016. Lansink and her husband, Jayson, live in Ida Grove and have three children: Madison, 18; Lauren, 14; and Sam, nine.
