Carroll Public Library Celebrates Warmer Weather With Master Gardening Program Thursday

Spring is less than three weeks away and the Carroll Public Library is getting into the spirit with a gardening program tomorrow (Thursday). The seminar features three master gardeners who will each present on their own area of expertise. Ralph Von Qualen, who specializes in plant pathology, says gardening is a hobby anyone can pick up and no previous experience is required.

Von Qualen will teach participants how to get their plants started in the home before transplanting them outside. His fellow master gardeners, Sue Way and Ron Morlock, will talk about repurposing flowers from previous years, perennials and roses. Von Qualen says this time of year is exciting for garden-lovers because it signals that the end of winter is near.

He invites anybody considering planting a garden this year to attend and says even the most experienced gardeners will learn something new. The program gets underway at 2 p.m. tomorrow (Thursday) in the Carroll Public Library
