The Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach Carroll County Office is hosting a continuing education class for pesticide applicators next month. The course will provide credits for public and private applicators in forest, aquatic, right-of-way and research and demonstration pest control. Topics covered will include: equipment calibration, phytotoxicity, pesticide drift reduction, principles of limited area application, aquatic invasive species, tree heaven and red cedar control, white oak mortality and phragmites control. Sessions are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 17 at the Carroll County office. Registration fees are $35 per person if completed before Oct. 10 and increase to $45 if submitted after that date.
