Two Incumbent And Two New Area Sheriffs Sworn Into Office This Week

Two incumbents and two newly elected area county Sheriffs have been officially sworn into office this week. Incumbents, Sac County Sheriff, Ken McClure, and Audubon County Sheriff, Todd Johnson, retained their positions in the Nov. 8 election to serve another term in office. Johnson has been with the Audubon County Sheriff’s Office since 1989 and was elected Sheriff in 2000. Jefferson native, Jack Williams, is replacing retired Greene County Sheriff, Steve Haupert, and was sworn in on Tuesday. Williams has been with the Greene County Sheriff’s office for 12 years and is a certified arson investigator, experienced K-9 handler as well as an Active Shooter Response and defensive tactics instructor. And Carroll County swore in Sheriff Ken Pingrey Tuesday morning at the Carroll County Board of Supervisor’s meeting (pictured above). Pingrey, who has been serving as Sheriff since the retirement of Doug Bass in March of 2016, is now entering into his first full term in office. Pingrey has a total of 26 years of experience in law enforcement and served as Chief Deputy in the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office for 10 years before being appointed to the Sheriff position. Other Carroll County officials that were sworn in on Tuesday include Carroll County Supervisor incumbents, Neil Bock and Gene Meiners, newly elected Supervisor, Richard Ruggles and Carroll County Auditor, Kourtney Irlbeck.
