A Monday night meeting of the Crawford County Memorial Hospital board in Denison got controversial only moments in according to a report by SiouxlandProud.com. Several members of the public attended the meeting and asked for the resignation of CEO, Bill Bruce, amid allegations of a declining financial state. The public outcry comes just a few months after it was reported by Carroll Broadcasting in April that the hospital was now facing three additional wrongful death lawsuits. That announcement came just one year after the hospital had settled a similar lawsuit for $500,000, brought by the family of Carole Christiansen who died in November of 2014 after a botched colonoscopy. SiouxlandProud reports that Ray Gosch, a Crawford County resident, told board members that if they did not have the courage to ask for Bruce’s resignation, then they needed to resign from the board.
