Attorney Marijuana Advisory Group Releases Report On Proposed Marijuana Policy

Carroll County Attorney, John Werden, was appointed to the Marijuana Advisory Group of the National District Attorneys Association (NDAA) in January, and on April 20, the group released a Marijuana Policy: The State and Local Prosecutors’ Perspective. A summary of the report says this group is in favor of application of Federal drug enforcement policies regarding the manufacturing, importation, possession and use or distribution of marijuana.  The association is also in support of ongoing research for the medical uses of marijuana and further researching the impact of marijuana on operation of motorized vehicles. The main conclusion drawn by the advisory group is that even though they are seeing an ever-changing landscape on a state-by-state basis in the application of laws and punishments for medical and recreational marijuana use, they believe strongly that decisions in relation to policy and enforcement need to be maintained on the federal level to maintain respect for the rule of law. Carroll Broadcasting has reached out to Werden, and will bring you more details on the report in an upcoming broadcast.
