Women’s Firearm Shooting Training To Be Held At The End Of The Month In Carroll

Carroll County Sheriff Deputy and firearms instructor, Lt. Tom Fransen will be leading a special class for women only this month to allow them the opportunity to learn more about shooting and handling guns. Carroll County Sheriff, Ken Pingrey said having a permit to carry is not a requirement for attending the class. However, it is a great opportunity for women wanting more instruction before or after obtaining a gun permit, especially for those who have not had a lot of experience in handling guns.

On Saturday, Oct. 22, at 11 a.m. Pingrey says the group will gather in the ground-floor meeting room of the Carroll County Courthouse before heading out to the Carroll County Conservation range near the landfill. For those women who already own their own gun, they can bring that gun and ammo with them to the training. For those who do not have their own weapon, Mike Wendl says they will have representatives from Wendl’s Weapons of Carroll and Shooters Outlet of Arcadia on hand to answer questions and provide options

Wendl said this type of event is a great way for women to not only learn how to handle a weapon, but also which one is best for them.

Preregistration for the women’s firearm shooting training is required and a $40 fee will need to be paid in advance. Call 712-790-1055 with any questions or to register for this event. Those interested in learning more may also follow the contact point included below.
