Templeton To Be New Home For Waspy’s Truck Stop. Groundbreaking Tonight

The Templeton Area Development Corporation will be hosting a groundbreaking ceremony for Waspy’s Truck Stop this evening (Thursday), at 5 p.m. at the south end of the Templeton Industrial Park. Waspy’s is a start-up company that made an announcement last November of its intentions to build a facility that will service the growing demand for agricultural and commercial vehicle services in the area. Waspy’s Truck Stop will be located on 10 acres at the intersection of County Road N18 and 305th Street in Templeton, which is just north of the Highway 141 and 71 intersection on Ivy Avenue. Managers, Brian Handlos and John Anderson say the truck stop will feature a convenience store, fast food with seating, an automatic car wash, an RV dump station, multiple gas and flex fuel options—including kerosene—and ample room for future growth. The 24/7 operation is expected to employ approximately 56 local individuals and will be utilizing local contractors for construction and local vendors for supplies. The groundbreaking this evening will be taking place at the intersection of Rye Ave. and East 7th Street in Templeton. A brief reception at the Still will follow the ceremony.
