Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) and Wal-Mart will be hosting a Merchants Baseball Fun Day during the double-header against the Omaha Filth Ballers on Sunday, July 17. The first game will start at 2 p.m. and the first 250 kids through the gates will receive a free souvenir wooden bat with the Carroll Merchants team logo as well as a draw-string backpack and sunglasses. Between the 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. games, kids will have the opportunity to compete in a home run derby. There will be other kid activities and prizes throughout the games. After the game, the kids will be invited onto the field and will be able to run the bases and participate in a special Kid’s Day player autograph session.
