Hillary Clinton speaks with CBC; says current poll numbers aren’t a concern

On Friday afternoon Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton spoke with Carroll Broadcasting by phone while on the campaign trail in New Hampshire. In Iowa Clinton’s poll numbers have dropped behind her chief rival, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, according to a CNN poll released on Thursday. Sanders leads Clinton 51% to 43% among likely democratic caucus-goers. Clinton says paying attention to those poll numbers though is a distraction and she’d rather hear what Iowans have to say.

She says people don’t need more promises what they need are more results, and in order to get her message out to voters Clinton is relying on her campaign office prescient captains and members to knock on doors on her behalf. However, she’s still doing everything she can to reach out to anyone who is thinking about caucusing with the Democrats.

With her travel schedule not yet finalized prior to Iowa’s caucuses Clinton says she would enjoy a visit back to this area.

According to Clinton’s campaign website she’ll be back in the Hawkeye state this weekend making scheduled stops in West Des Moines, Marshalltown, Knoxville, Oskaloosa, Cedar Falls, Marion, North Liberty, Decorah and Davenport. During our interview with Clinton she spoke about her stance on sustaining Iowa’s agricultural based economy and the prospect of imposing term limits for politicians. We’ll bring you those stories in upcoming broadcasts.
