A call came into the Carroll Police Department at approximately 11:13 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 12, reporting that a vehicle had gone through the t-intersection at Grant Road and Anthony Street, had gone up the steep embankment and struck the Carroll City Cemetery wall. Officers arrived to find that 20-year-old Justin Chandler, of Denison, lost control of his 2008 Honda Accord, which was totaled in the accident. Though Chandler was uninjured, he was charged with operating while intoxicated, failure to maintain control and an insurance violation. There was some damage done to a MidAmerican Energy guy wire that was hit in the accident, but no damage was reported to the cemetery’s rock wall.
