No Injuries Reported In Fire On Thursday In Carroll

The Carroll Fire Department responded to a small fire inside of a home at 1309 North Grant Road at approximately 12:03 p.m. today (Thursday, Dec. 22). The incident originated from a clothes dryer overheating and catching fire during its operation. Residents were evacuated as a precaution, and the flames were extinguished soon after firefighters arrived on the scene. Fire Chief Greg Schreck says damage was limited to the dryer, and no structural damage was observed. According to the United States Fire Administration (USFA), nearly 3,000 dryer fires are reported each year with nearly half of those a result of improper operation. The USFA recommends owners remove lint regularly from screens, the machine and exhaust vents to prevent a fire.
