The Carroll Area Development Corporation (CADC) presented an award this week to Van Meter Industrial Inc. The Spirit of Excellence award was received by Rick Lohrmann, Sales Manager of Van Meter’s Carroll location. Van Meter Industrial Inc. is an electrical supply company that has been in Carroll since 1990. They recently invested into a $4 million dollar, 26,000-sq-foot warehouse that was completed last August. Regional Vice President, Rob Olney, discussed some of the benefits of their new facility.
This new Leadership in Energy and Environment (LEED) building must meet stringent regulation to receive the certification. The building also features an 88-panel solar array and uses environmentally friendly lighting and temperature control. Shannon Landaur, CADC Executive Director, said that it was an easy decision for them to choose Van Meter for the Spirit of Excellence award.
Van Meter has been 100 percent employee-owned since 2005 with 15 employees working at the Carroll location. CADC is proud to have Van Meter Industrial Inc. and expressed their gratitude for their investment to Carroll County.
