September unemployment rates for the Western Iowa Advantage eight county area decreased nearly one full percent to 2.8 percent from the 3.7 percent rate in September of last year. The Iowa unemployment rate was down to 3.6 percent from a revised 4.7 percent in 2014. The area county rates for last month saw Carroll will the lowest at 2.4 percent, followed closely by Adair at 2.6 and Ida at 2.7. Sac, Greene and Guthrie Counties all recorded unemployment rates at 2.8 percent and Audubon and Crawford came in at a reported 3.3 percent rate. All of these still fall well below the U.S. reported rate at 5.1 percent for September of 2015.
