Students To Celebrate Character Counts Week Oct. 18

This past Friday, Senator Chuck Grassley, along with five other colleagues passed a bipartisan resolution designating the week of Oct. 18, as National Character Counts Week. Character Counts is an educational program available to help schools teach values and ethics to America’s youth. Grassley said he has seen first-hand how the program is working during visits to Iowa schools. He said getting a well-rounded education involves more than learning to read, write and do arithmetic; it takes the lessons learned at home and in the classroom to help kids grow into responsible young adults and good citizens. The resolution calls for communities to observe the week with appropriate ceremonies programs and activities.
