Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and town are celebrating it’s Sesquicentennial this weekend starting with a parade Saturday at 1:30 pm and ATV/UTV pull at 3 pm. There will be plenty to do including: kid & adult games, kids pedal pull, cake walk on Saturday along and the beer garden opens with music by DJ Jeff Heinrich and later 2 1/2 Guitars will be LIVE!! Also on Saturday, the museum in the Parish hall will be open, walking tours to enjoy, the gift shop will be open, the firemen water fights and play a little bingo. On Sunday, mass will be at 10:30 am and the Homecoming Luncheon will be at noon. Also going on Sunday will be the car and tractor show, raffle, and auction. Be sure to visit the traveling Iowa Historical bus which will be there with their mobile museum on Sunday from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm! It explores the history of Iowans at home, work and play. It unpacks the stories of Iowa’s past with exhibits to see for yourself. Beer garden will be open again on Sunday and there will be plenty of food and refreshments all weekend long, including grilling by the Carroll County Cattleman!!
