MidAmerican Energy Increases Rebate Amounts For Some Purchases Through The End Of 2020

MidAmerican Energy has announced up to 50 percent increases in rebate amounts on certain high-efficiency equipment purchases for residential and small businesses through the remainder of 2020. “We understand that people experiencing financial fallout from the pandemic may be holding off on needed home equipment purchases that will help them save energy now and money in the long run,” says Director of Energy Efficiency, Tina Yoder. “These increased incentives will help our customers save money by lowering their monthly energy bills.” For residential users, the increased rebates apply to high-efficiency air conditioners, heat pumps and smart thermostats. Residential customers will now qualify for an up to $750 rebate on the air conditioner purchase, up $250 from $500. Those residential customers who purchase a smart thermostat will be eligible for up to $115 in rebates, an increase from the previous $75 amount. For small business customers in Iowa and Illinois, the rebate increases apply to lighting, heating, ventilation and cooling, commercial refrigeration and compressed air measures. Residential customers are also invited to check their energy efficiency online through the HomeCheck Online energy assessment tool. The free service analyzes energy use and offers information and tips on reduction. The tool can be accessed through the MyAccount link at MidAmericanEnergy.com.
