Trial information was filed Wednesday in District Court for Carroll County formally charging a Carroll man with drug trafficking. Court documents show 26-year-old Shakiel Allynn Klampe faces one count of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, a class D felony. The charge stems from an incident on Feb. 12 in the 1000 block of Simon Avenue. An investigation by the Carroll Police Department found Klampe in possession of several large, individually wrapped bags of marijuana. Law enforcement says in an affidavit the quantity of marijuana seized exceeds the amount considered for personal use. His arraignment hearing has been scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 26. Klampe was released from custody Monday after posting a $5,000 surety bond. A class D felony carries a maximum penalty of up to five years in prison and $7,500 in fines.
