Sac City Man Arrested On Multiple Felony Drug Trafficking Charges

The Sac City Police Department reports a Sac City man has been taken into custody on felony drug trafficking charges. Twenty-five-year-old Casey Herrig was arrested after lab results confirmed items seized during an Oct. 18 search were controlled substances. During their search of Herrig’s residence in the 600 block of Leonard Street, authorities located 8.71 grams of methamphetamine and several pills in unmarked containers, which were later identified as amitriptyline and methylphenidate. Herrig has been charged with possession of more than five grams of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, a class B felony, possession of methylphenidate with intent to deliver, a class C felony, and two counts of failure to affix a drug tax stamp, Class D felonies. Herrig remains in custody at the Sac County jail on a $10,000 cash only bond. The Sac County Sheriff’s Office and Lake View Police Department assisted the Sac City Police Department during the investigation.
