The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) was assisted by the Jefferson Police Department at around 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday with the execution of a search warrant. The DNR had been receiving complaints of several dead red fox in the 600 block of East Reed Street and the surrounding neighborhood. The warrant was subsequently requested and the search uncovered a number of air rifles, scopes and ammo. The items were seized and the DNR will determine whether any criminal charges or citations will be levied following the completion of a full investigation.
