Aaron Bauman has called Carroll home for his entire life, and as a standout athlete at Carroll High School, he represented his community in the 1994 Shrine Bowl. He and his wife Michelle made the choice to stay in Carroll and raise their daughter Britt in his hometown. Now this hometown hero is facing a life-altering challenge as he battles cancer. To help defray the costs of treatment, family and friends have organized fundraisers, the first being held this coming Saturday, Oct. 3, after the Band Day Parade. From 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., they will be serving hamburgers and hot dogs at the Carroll Depot. For a free will donation, you get your choice of sandwich, chips, a cookie and a drink. There will also be a soup supper and silent auction held at the Lidderdale Parish Hall on Saturday, Oct. 24 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Those interested in donating to the auction can message Paula Underberg or Jeni Esslinger on Facebook or follow the links to their pages.
