The Audubon County Road Department has announced that road construction on Pheasant Avenue has been completed. The seven-mile stretch of Pheasant Avenue from 120th Street to 190th Street has been closed since July 23 for resurfacing, and drivers have been utilizing a detour route along U.S. Highway 71 for the duration of the project. At approximately 12 p.m. on Friday, officials indicated the contractors had removed the “Road Closed” from the area and Pheasant Avenue was now open to vehicular travel. The department reminds residents that construction on nearby wind towers is still ongoing and advises there may be increased traffic in the region until that project is completed.
