There was serious damage done to two vehicles in separate accidents Wednesday night. The Greene County Sheriff’s Office reports they were called to 235th Street, east of Parkland Avenue, to the east of Jefferson, at approximately 8:26 p.m. The deputy found 38-year-old Clayton Chapman of Boone had hit a deer on the roadway, causing an estimated $7,000 in damage to the 2017 Chevrolet Express van he was driving. Just a few minutes later, at approximately 8:41 p.m., they were called to the scene of another car/deer accident on Highway 4 near 210th Street, just north of Jefferson. A 2017 Chevrolet Impala, driven by 66-year-old Barbara Gregg of Farnhamville, was unable to avoid striking the deer, resulting in an estimated $8,000 in damage to her vehicle. No injuries were reported in either incident.
