Opioid abuse remains a growing problem in Iowa and an area non-profit is hosting a seminar to educate citizens on the issue. New Opportunities invites anyone interested in learning more about the opioid epidemic and the complications it creates to join them tomorrow (Thursday) at their office in Sac City. Substance abuse counselors and prevention consultants will delve into the specifics of how addictions are formed and the impact it has on families and communities. Presenters will also review treatment options and ways an individual can stop opioid abuse before it starts. The program is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. People of all ages are encouraged to attend.
