Lake View Busy Over Labor Day Weekend

Lake View visitors and residents will have plenty of activities this weekend to celebrate the unofficial end of summer. The weekend starts off with the art-themed “Chalk the Walk” where kids of all ages can decorate the town’s downtown sidewalks from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. during the final Lake View farmer’s market of the season. Sunday features a mix of fun and fundraising with Ronald’s Road Rally. Participants meet at the Bar in Lake View at noon for registration with the ride on the Sauk Rail Trail beginning at 1 p.m. Riders can register early for $20, on the day of the event for $25 and kids ride for free. Money raised goes to support the Ronald McDonald House of Iowa. Sunday’s festivities conclude with the last show in the Lake View Stone Pier Summer Concert Series. Indie, pop and folk singer, Maddie Poppe takes the stage at 5 p.m. as the opening act followed by country and classic rock act, Salty View’s Acoustic Review. The show is free to attend, and food and beverages will be available for purchase during the show. The Lake View Community Club caps off the weekend on Monday with a waffle breakfast at the Speaker Park Shelter from 8 a.m. to noon. Money raised supports the Speaker Park Splash Pad project.
