A Moravia man has been sentenced to six years in prison after pleading guilty to possessing child pornography. In January, 31-year-old David Ray Nelson entered his plea to the charges. On June 2, U.S. District Court Judge, Stephanie Ross, handed down the punishment. Authorities discovered the crime during an investigation into online distribution of child-pornography through a peer-to-peer file sharing network. A follow-up search warrant in August at Nelson’s home uncovered several computers and storage devices which contained images and videos of children. The Iowa Division of Criminal (DCI) Investigation Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and Hancock and Appanoose County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation.
