Iowa Fuel Report: May 13, 2026

Gas prices in Iowa held firmly above the four-dollar mark in this week’s report from the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) and AAA-Iowa. As of Wednesday, May 13, the average price for a gallon of regularly unleaded gasoline in Iowa was $4.19, down four cents from last week but $1.30 higher than a year ago. The national average on Wednesday was down three cents to $4.51 per gallon. There was similar movement in the Iowa retail diesel market, which dropped an average of four cents to $5.36 per gallon, compared to just $3.30 a year ago. Iowa diesel prices held 30 cents below the $5.66 per gallon national average. At the Des Moines Terminal, E-10 was marked at $3.39, Unleaded 87 at $3.95, ULSD#2 at $4.29, ULSD#1 at $4.46, and E-70 at $2.59. Natural gas prices at the Henry Hub reporting site were up 16 cents to $2.88 per MMBtu.
