Carroll County GOP To Host Candidate Town Hall Thursday At Swan Lake

The Carroll County Republican Party and Carroll County Republican Women are jointly hosting a town hall later this week to allow voters to hear directly from candidates ahead of the upcoming primary election. The “Voices by the Lake: A Supervisor Primary Town Hall” program will be held on Thursday, May 14, at the Swan Lake Eastside Shelter House. Doors will open at 6 p.m., with the program beginning at 6:30 p.m. The town hall will focus on candidates in the Carroll County Board of Supervisors primary race, which includes District 4 Incumbent Stephanie Hausman and current Carroll County Sheriff Ken Pingrey, in an open forum. Other Republican candidates appearing on the primary ballot have been invited, but U.S. Senate candidate Jim Carlin is the only one who has confirmed he will participate as of yet. As this is the only locally contested race, organizers encourage residents to attend regardless of political affiliation. The event will offer attendees a chance to learn about the candidates, hear their perspectives on county issues, and participate in discussions ahead of the primary election. Light hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be provided.
