Iowa Farm Bureau Seeks Applicants From Membership For 2027 Trade Mission To India

Applications are now open for an international market study tour to India, which will take Iowa farmers to explore potential agricultural trade opportunities. The market study is being organized by the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation and is scheduled for Feb. 19 through Feb. 28 of next year. The purpose of the trip is to give participants a closer look at India’s growing economy, agricultural systems, and consumer trends, and identify trade growth opportunities for Iowa-grown products in underutilized markets. Iowa Farm Bureau President Brent Johnson says, “As we strategically work to build new markets for Iowa’s agricultural products, it’s essential that India is included in our trade portfolio. With the world’s largest youth population and a rapidly growing economy, India stands out as a key market with significant trade potential—both in the near future and for decades to come. This Market Study Tour offers Iowa farmers an invaluable opportunity to experience firsthand the cultural richness and economic diversity of India while strengthening future trade relationships.” The 10-day itinerary includes stops in the nation’s larger cities, farms, livestock and egg production facilities, tea estates, and local markets. If selected for the market study tour, the cost for Iowa Farm Bureau members is $2,500. Farmers interested in attending are encouraged to visit www.iowafarmbureau.com/news/market-study-tour for participant requirements. Applications are due by July 24.
