A Carroll man was transported yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon for treatment of injuries sustained in a moped vs. car collision. According to the Carroll Police Department, the collision occurred at approximately 3:05 p.m. at the intersection of 10th and N. West Street. Authorities say 32-year-old Abhimanu Gabriel Brekke of Carroll was traveling eastbound on 10th Street on a 2015 Honda moped and failed to properly stop at the posted stop sign. As Brekke entered the intersection, he drove directly into the driver’s side door of a northbound 2019 Lincoln Nautilus, operated by a 17-year-old female from Carroll. Brekke was transported to St. Anthony Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries by Carroll County Emergency Medical Services (EMS). The juvenile driver was not injured in the collision. The moped was totaled in the crash, while the Lincoln sustained an estimated $1,500 in damage. Brekke was later cited for failure to obey a stop sign.
