The organizers behind the Concerned Iowans group in Carroll are planning to join the No Kings Day of Peaceful Protest, which will be held across the country on Saturday, March 28. According to a statement released by the group, the event is an opportunity for people to come together in defense of fundamental constitutional rights and to show their opposition to Operation Epic Fury against the Iranian regime and to the Trump Administration’s tariff policies, which have contributed to distress in the ag industry through higher input costs. They say they are also protesting against policies that cut healthcare, food assistance, and veteran benefits. Participants will gather at 11 a.m. Saturday outside the Carroll County Courthouse and hold signs along nearby U.S. Highway 30. The Concerned Iowans are collecting voluntary food donations during the event that will go to local pantries.
