U.S Senator Chuck Grassley Delivers Two Crawford County Veterans Stories To Library Of Congress Through Veterans History Project

U.S Senator Chuck Grassley delivered six more stories of Iowa veterans to the Library of Congress, two from Crawford County. For nearly a decade, Grassley has added veterans shared stories as part of the Veterans History Project, preserving the personal accounts of American armed service members for future generations to hear to understand their heroism and service. Veterans from WWII to the present day have reached out to Grassley to share their experiences, with Teresa Martens who served in the army during Desert Storm, deploying Saudi Arabia and Germany and Jeffrey Mendenhall in the Iowa Air National Guard deploying to Iraq for the War on Terrorism. Grassley says he has been proud to support this project over the years saying “The sacrifices of the men and women in uniform should never be forgotten. Their stories help us better understand the cost of freedom and the service that has helped keep our country safe and free and strong.” Iowa veterans interested in sharing their story to have it recorded for the Veterans History Project can email Grassley’s Gold Star Fellow Clayton Brown, contact points can be found included below.
