Stewart Memorial Honors McClendon As Culture Champion

Stewart Memorial Hospital and Clinics has recognized Brittney McClendon as its fourth-quarter Culture Champion for consistently demonstrating the hospital’s core values through teamwork, dedication, and patient-centered care. McClendon was nominated by colleagues Marie Drey, Emily Scott, and Branden Roberts, who cited her steady support of patients and staff during periods of staffing transition. She played a central role in maintaining continuity of care within rehabilitation services by helping maintain patients’ scheduled appointments during overlapping staff maternity leaves. Thanks to McClendon, pediatric patients experienced no interruption in services. She serves as the primary technician supporting pediatric rehabilitation, working closely with therapists to coordinate changing schedules and address complex needs. In the nomination, her colleagues wrote, “Brittney is patient, thorough, and always willing to help. No matter how complex the scheduling or insurance question, she takes the time to listen and problem-solve with us every step of the way.” McClendon has also expanded her knowledge of managed care insurance, volunteered to support the Rockwell City rehabilitation location, and filled in wherever needed during staffing shortages. As a working mother and student, she continues to bring empathy and commitment to her work. Hospital leaders say McClendon’s behind-the-scenes efforts have had a significant impact on patients, families, and staff.
