The city park in the town of Lidderdale has gotten a new look and residents are beyond excited to begin making new memories on the updated play structures. Becca Scharfenkamp noticed how depleted the decades old equipment was and began exploring the option for more modern play equipment to provide a safer space for kids to play. She says she formed the Lidderdale Parks and Rec committee that was the organizing party behind the fundraising efforts and they all got to work.
The new equipment was purchased back in June and officially installed in October. Scharfenkamp says the committee didn’t stop there though.
Scharfenkamp says her goal was to have everything completed by 2027 before Lidderdale’s Quasquicentennial town celebration. She says they still have a bit to go and are asking for donations to make everything complete.
Scharfenkamp contact points and other ways to donate can be found included below. Scharfenkamp wants to thank all the volunteers, businesses and community members who have stepped up to help make this idea become a reality.
Pictures of the new playground can be found included below as well. The Lidderdale Parks and Recreation Committee, along with city officials are looking forward to continue building the momentum to make the community a fun and safe place to gather, play and continue to make special memories.
