CCSD Board Of Education Discusses Fiscal Status, Postpones Superintendent Evaluation During Monday’s Meeting

The Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education held a work session last (Monday) night to discuss the district’s financial state but did not hold the superintendent evaluation as initially planned. Director of Business Affairs, Nicole McCarville presented figured regarding certified enrollment, unspent authorized budget (UAB) ratio, solvency ratio, and new money that was reported over the years. McCarville compared CCSD’s numbers to districts across the state and there was nothing concerning that administration should need to address. Following the work session, a motion was made to go into closed session per Iowa Code 21.5.1.i, for a superintendent evaluation. The motion died due to a lack of a second. Board members questioned if the evaluation should occur after the election to have the new members be present. A motion to adjourn was made, followed by a second, closing out the meeting. Carroll Broadcasting will bring you more on the CCSD work session in upcoming newscasts.
