Construction on the new pickleball court in Coon Rapids is now complete and officially open to the public. The Coon Rapids City Council explored the idea earlier this summer when discussing the resurfacing project for the tennis courts down by the aquatic center. The city was quoted just over $23,000 for the entire project, resurfacing and the addition of the new courts. City officials applied and were the recipient of a 2025 Warren H. Timerman Charitable Trust grant through Iowa Savings Bank for $5,000 which covered part of the cost of installation. The remaining amount was paid through the park’s maintenance fund. One court is now available to use, with the plans to add a second one at a later date.
