St. Anthony Hosts Bipartisan Cancer Listening Session Wednesday

With Iowa ranking second nationally in cancer incidence rates, residents are asked to share their experiences at a bipartisan cancer listening session tomorrow (Wednesday) at St. Anthony Regional Hospital. Approximately 135 Carroll County residents are diagnosed with cancer each year, highlighting what Cancer Center Director Lori Pietig calls a “critical need” for collaboration on prevention, screening, and access to care. Pietig, who will be facilitating Wednesday’s seminar, says, “Engaging lawmakers and giving voice to those directly impacted by cancer is essential. By sharing personal stories and lived experiences, we open dialogue and help shape informed policies that support prevention, early detection, and access to care. By working together, we can all help lift the cancer burden across the state.” The event is part of a statewide series connecting communities with lawmakers and will be held at 7 p.m. in the St. Anthony Room on the hospital’s fourth floor. No registration is required, and the session is free and open to the public.
