Loring Hospital staff and administration welcomed everyone who attended Monday’s ribbon cutting celebrating the completion of the hospital’s expansion project and the opening of the new UnityPoint Clinic in Sac City. The 42,000 square-foot expansion project broke ground in March of 2024, adding several new rooms to accommodate outpatient services such as rehabilitation, pulmonary and cardiac rehab, specialty clinic, diabetes and nutrition services and the new primary care clinic. Loring Hospital Board of Directors and administration has been working on the plan for the expansion since 2021, being officially approved by the board in 2023. The $40.7 million project was primarily funded through a United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development loan for $37.1 million announced in Jan. 2024, a $750,000 donation from Loring Healthcare Foundation earlier this year, plus other fundraising events. The opening ceremony gave individuals the opportunity to tour the new expansion, celebrating Loring Hospital’s continued success of serving the Sac City and surrounding communities for the past 75 years. Pictures from the event can be found on Loring Hospital’s Facebook page, a link to which is included below.
