An original film produced by IKM-Manning students was featured and placed at the third annual 712 Film Festival held in July at the King Theatre in Ida Grove. Over the 2025 Iowa High School Speech Association (IHSSA) Large Group Speech contest, nine IKM-Manning high school students recorded a news segment: “Mystery of the Enigma: Season 2, Episode 4: Cryptids” that went on to earn performing honors at the All-State Speech Festival back in February. That film was submitted to the 712 Film Festival, held to showcase local filmmakers, earning third place and the Audience Choice award. Students from Denison, Woodbine, Postville and the University of Iowa also submitted original pieces, as well as professional films from various locations in Iowa. The submissions were reviewed by two judges and festival producers to determine winners. Pictures from this year’s festival can be found included below.
