Sac County Officials Open Application Period For Grants Utilizing Opioid Settlement Funding

Sac County officials have opened the application period for the Opioid Settlement Funds awards to be utilized for community-based initiatives to address the opioid crisis. Through Sept. 30, health organizations or other treatment facilities can apply for grant funding to support the prevention, abatement, and treatment of substance misuse in the county. Applications must include a detailed plan for the use of the funds. The Sac County Opioid Settlement Committee will review them. The Board of Supervisors will give final approval. Sac County has received just over $100,963 for these programs and services. Health Services Administrator and facilitator for the Sac County Opioid Settlement Committee, Shelley Vauble, says, “We are committed to using these funds to save lives, reduce overdose risk, and support long-term recovery. This application process allows Sac County to strategically invest in programs across prevention, treatment, and recovery that meet community needs.” Applications can be found online, and the links are included with this story on our website. Awards will be announced around Nov. 1, after official approval from the Board of Supervisors.
