The Labor Day holiday is coming up, and residents in Guthrie County are gearing up for the 150th annual Guthrie County Fair. One of the few fairs in the state that is held after the Iowa State Fair, Fair Board President Travis Clark says, that’s what makes their event unique. He says there will be a few new activities taking place during this year’s celebration.

The fair kicks off on Thursday, with activities planned through Monday, Sept. 1. Clark says the popular grandstand events are scheduled for the evenings, with three nights of entertainment.

Clark says that once admission is paid to enter the fairgrounds, everything, even the grandstand events, is included in that fee.

Clark says there is so much going on that he wouldn’t have time to mention everything scheduled during this year’s Guthrie County Fair. He encourages everyone to look online to get additional details.

The weather is looking beautiful with highs in the 70s, so Clark is welcoming all to take advantage of the extended weekend and come make memories at the 2025 Guthrie County Fair.
