Carroll County Conservation is presenting an opportunity to join the Environmental Education team on an adventure to Minnesota later this summer. Six participants are welcomed to sign up for a 4-day trip to Ely, Minn., just 16 miles south of the Canadian Border for new experiences in a different location. Conservation Education Coordinator Kristen Bieret says this is a brand-new program for Carroll County Conservation.
Bieret says the inspiration behind offering this to local residents came from a personal experience of hers and from individuals she has met along the way.
Anyone ages 14 and up are welcome to register for the excursion taking place on Sunday Aug. 10 through Thursday Aug. 14. Bieret says there is a lot of fun and exciting activities planned.
Cost to participate is $400 for adults and $250 for high school kids, thanks to a generous donation in Memory of Don Severin, a Carroll County Conservation Board member from 1968-1991. Scholarships are also available to high school students if financial assistance is needed. Bieret encourages all to register as the trip is limited to six participants. Those interested can reach out to Bieret by calling 712-792-4614 or email kbieret@carrollcountyiowa.org. Registration is due by July 25.
