Templeton’s Sacred Heart Church Celebrates 40th Annual Street Dance Thursday, July 3

The Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Templeton is reaching a milestone tomorrow (Thursday) night as it celebrates its 40th annual community street dance. Matt Meiners with the organizing committee says their holiday bash is a staple of summertime for the town.

Meiners says the reason they host the annual street dance in 2025 is much the same as when it began in 1984.

For the last four decades, parishioners and residents have gathered together for a night of fun and community, and Meiners says this year’s event, scheduled for Thursday, July 3, follows that tradition.

Meiners adds they will also be selling raffle tickets leading up to and during the dance for $25 each. The drawing is scheduled for 10 p.m. Thursday, with a grand prize of $500 cash, alongside dozens of other prizes. Those tickets can be purchased from Templeton Savings Bank, the Good Shepard Parish Office, or at the dance until 9 p.m. Meiners says another highlight of the evening is the fireworks display at dusk, sponsored by the Templeton Fire Department. The live DJ plays until midnight to close out the night. The money raised from the Sacred Heart Street Dance supports the parish’s facility maintenance needs and operational expenses.
