Carroll Chamber’s Live+Local Back In Action Thursday For 2025 Season

Live+Local, the Carroll Chamber of Commerce’s summer concert series, is back in action this week as hundreds of people will gather near downtown for live music and community fun. Chamber Business Development Director Rosanne Nees says they launched Live+Local in 2021 to address the demand for community events following the 2020 lockdowns, and it has since become a staple of summertime in Carroll.

Live+Local now draws crowds of just under a thousand people each time it is hosted, typically once a month over the summer. Last year, the Chamber changed venues from downtown on Adams Street to the Depot Park on W. 5th Street, which Nees says has worked out wonderfully.

The featured act for the Thursday show is Lincoln Highway, and Nees says they offer a musical selection that should appeal to a wide variety of people.

Live+Local runs from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, in the Depot Park. Nees reminds attendees to bring their lawn chairs and coolers along with them; however, no hard liquor or glass containers are permitted. Other concerts on the docket this summer are Jordan Beem on June 26, sponsored by First American Home Warranty; Hap Hazard on July 17, sponsored by Auen Distributing and Carroll Broadcasting; Cover That on Aug. 14, sponsored by Pella Corporation; and Aged Spirits on Sept. 18, sponsored by Drees Co. and Mid-Iowa Insurance & Real Estate.
